Polly and Ben Wedding – “We are so thrilled with the photos you have sent. It has really captured our day, just as we wished”
Polly and Ben Wedding. Well, well, well. They asked me to bring sunshine with me – and sunshine I brought :-). I met Polly and Ben a couple of times before their big day. Firstly was the consultation where we bonded over our love for cats, and then to photograph their engagement shoot in the woods around Haldon, Devon. It was lovely to see their plans for the day come together, and they really did a stellar job!
Polly and Ben’s wedding day came, and these two made me smile all day long. Bishop’s Court was the perfect setting for their “I do’s”; with wild peacocks roaming the grounds, glorious weather and plenty of laughter. Then drinks and grub back at Polly’s family home. It was hard to top this fantastic wedding.
Polly’s dress looked absolutely stunning, and because of the huge windows in the ceremony room she had to use a giant umbrella to shield her from prying eyes when she turned up – it was a great touch!
Ceremony
The ceremony was very personal, and it was the first time I have heard “the owl and the pussy cat” recited as a reading during a ceremony. I sure hope that it’s not the last because there was something quite magical about it! It was so good in fact, that an encore was asked as a start to the speeches!(During which there were plenty of laughs…..and some ear defenders for the in-laws!)
Bishop’s Court made a fantastic venue for their wedding photographs (one of their pictures is still my favourite photos to date). Watching them practice their choreographed first dance was pretty special. I wasn’t there for the actual routine in the evening, but it looked pretty good in the grounds of a listed manor house!
Back at the family home, their wedding marquee was styled immaculately. I cannot imagine how many hours it must have taken them to create all the origami cranes that they had hanging from the ceiling.
From my first meeting with them, to waving goodbye in the evening it was all a pleasure- so take a peak at their big day below!
