Tom and Lana- Trevenna Barns Wedding Photography
I first met Lana and Tom at a wedding in 2018 which I photographed (the Groom was Tom’s brother). I obviously impressed them with my moves on the dance floor, as it wasn’t long after that they booked me to photograph their own wedding!
They chose early August to hold their wedding. We were hoping for some of that beautiful, sunny weather that England is renowned for in the summer months!! Luckily for everyone, they managed to pick an absolutely lovely day to get married. This was made even better because their wedding venue was Trevenna Barns in Cornwall. (To see a what a winter wedding looks like at Trevenna then click here “Cornwall Wedding Photographer“) And when you throw Lana’s flair for design into the mix, you have one superb wedding day!
I turned up in the morning to the bride having an absolute whale of a time in the honeymoon suite. I don’t think I have ever seen such a laid back bridal group in the morning before! Not long after it was time for the happy couple to tie the knot. Because of that fine sunny weather, they opted for an outdoor ceremony under the beautiful gazebo. Lana had decorated the gazebo with wisteria for an extra special touch! There were not many dry eyes in the house, and Lana and Tom could not stop grinning! Tom was in his military blues, and I have to say that I felt so sorry for him as the day was just getting hotter and hotter!
There were some real highlights to capture from this wedding, and one of the main ones HAD to be the speeches. Tom smashed his speech (and made A LOT of people cry); Lana’s Dad had people in stitches as he decided to recite a poem that Lana had written when she was around 12 (it was incredible. I don’t think I could see my camera properly because I was laughing so much). And then there was the best man. He opted for a lymeric (which was pretty risky considering the entire bride’s family is Irish) but man did he pull it off!
All in all this was one incredible wedding, and most definitely a highlight of my 2019 season!
